A new movie by Brazilian director Fernando Mereilles starring American actress Julianne Moore will open this year’s Cannes Film Festival, organizers said Tuesday.

Miley Cyrus is feeling some backlash lately. The tween idol just got through experiencing flack for dropping her top for Annie Liebowtiz (that came out pervy), and now a band is accusing her of lifting their song.

Nick Cloutman, guitarist of the band Lustra, says that Miley’s song “Rockstar” is extremely similar to their song “Scotty Doesn’t Know” off their album Left For Dead. Well, they at least have a better song title. I like the name “Scotty”, it usually belongs to cute guys like the boyfriend.

“Although we are very flattered that Ms. Cyrus took this route, we would have preferred some credit,” Cloutman says. The band is reportedly “considering various options to rectify this situation,” he added.

And Miley’s take on the sitch? Her rep says that Miley doesn’t write the songs, “she sings them.” And the situation has been “referred to Disney.” Which means there will be a cover-up, probably a few murders, and several bombings as a distraction. Disney doesn’t f*ck around.
